Purslane starts sprouting in my garden around the end of May, and there is usually enough for a first harvest a couple of weeks later. In many countries, gardeners consider purslane a weed, and treat it as a nuisance.
The origin of this tender green and its evolution from wild plant to crop may be read in my blog post Purslane – Redeeming an Ancient Crop (June 23, 2018), which also includes a recipe for Deconstructed Verdolagas en salsa verde
