As the mistletoe has been hung, and the Christmas punch (my recipe here) has been prepared, my family is still trying to fulfill commitments and finish some chores – at home, work, with final exams and/or volunteering – before gathering in Toronto (Ontario, Canada) for Christmas. I will not be bringing my laptop, so I will have minimal WI-FI exposure for a few days, although I have wished for a new phone, so we will see if I will have to denounce the premature end of my hiatus (a little birdy told me I might be getting it, sshh!)
I would like to thank everyone who kindly stops by my blog, enriching my posts with comments and likes. I would also like to take the opportunity to wish you and your loved ones the best time possible, wrapping up this crazy year of 2018; whether you are still in hopeful expectation, have already celebrated a major holiday, or observe none, please receive my sincere wishes for happy moments, a little peace, lots of health, and the very best for the end of 2018, and the New Year!
Please enjoy this youtube audio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK7cpuhwoP0 of José Feliciano’s “Feliz Navidad” performed by Canadian singer (yes, who else?) Michael Bublé, and Mexican singer Thalia; as the lyrics say, I wish you: “¡Feliz Navidad, próspero año y felicidad!” – “A Merry Christmas, a prosperous year and happiness!”
As I was looking for an image for the post, I received a nomination for the Sunshine Blogger Award from the incredibly talented, clever writer and blogger Kristian @ Tales from the Mind of Kristian. I feel very honoured by the nomination, and thank Kristian for thinking of my blog, providing not one, but two beautiful images for my post, and – last but not least – for asking only three questions!
The rules:
– Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog.
– Answer the (eleven; Kristian sent only three) questions asked by the blogger who nominated you.
– Nominate (eleven) other bloggers and ask them (eleven) new questions.
– Notify the nominees about it on one of their own posts.
– List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post and/or your blog site.
My answers to Kristian’s questions:
What will you be eating on the 25th of December? I will be at my in-laws’, so I do not know for sure, but the traditional menu is a humongous roasted turkey, stuffing, and an endless spread of delicious homemade Greek dishes and desserts.
What would you like to see happen in 2019? A real commitment from every single human being to save our planet from an irreversible environmental disaster.
Name three things you are grateful for: My family, my extended families, and my friends (those near, far and in the blogosphere).
I really liked Kristian’s short list of questions, so I would like to keep them as the questions for my nominees, and also bend the rules even further by nominating only three bloggers:
Linda @ Just Writing
Theresa @ Culture Shocks
Christine Bolton @ Poetry for Healing
Merry Christmas to you too! I look forward to reading all your Mexican magic in 2019! Mel
