I am joining Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge (CFFC) One Single Flower; Cee is also hosting this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #101 with the same theme. The photo above shows an arrangement of some of the flowers that are currently available in my garden, and it serves as a reference for their close-ups below.
I have been harvesting sage (Salvia officinalis) leaves for a while, great as a condiment and also in herbal infusions; the leaves continue to be tasty even as the plants are almost done blooming:

The chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla, German chamomile) harvest – for calming herbal tea – is at its peak, having a particularly good year in my garden beds:

And although just a few pot marigolds (Calendula officinalis) are open now, they will continue to bloom, and offer their antiseptic benefits, for the rest of the summer:

In my next post, more about these and other healthy herbs for infusions.
Love chamomile but have never seen the flower. Loved it! Thanks for joining us!

I’m with Tina, I love chamomile tea and have drank it on and off for years. I’ve never seen the flower in person though. Thanks the playing along in Lens-Artists and CFFC challenges. 😀 😀

They’re quite pretty. We have to be concerned about chamomile becoming a noxious weed around here. I’ve only seen it on one property that I can recall.

And there are some species that are bitter, too, but at least, as you said, they are quite pretty.
