Today is my blog’s seventh anniversary! When I started blogging, I just wanted a medium to float my gardening and cooking ideas, and a way to document my memories and findings about being a Japanese-descendant/Mexican-born/Canadian-citizen; year after year, my collection of blog posts and special interest pages has grown into what I hope will be the legacy of my Mexican and multi-cultural experiences, for my daughters, and even perhaps for a few of the kind visitors to this blog.
As I have done since my blog’s first anniversary, I would like to thank all the readers from all continents (see my all-time views map below), who have followed my stories and recipes, often offering their feedback, encouragement, and friendship. It is so exciting to celebrate my 7th year as a blogger, and it is my true pleasure and honour to continue sharing My Slice of Mexico with you all!

A special mention to the top 10 countries with highest number of views of my website: United States (590,274), Canada (62,498), Mexico (42,976), United Kingdom (17,876), Australia (7,471), India (7,209), Philippines (4,986), Germany (4,578), The Netherlands (3,144), and France (2,363). And many thanks to the one viewer from each of the following: Solomon Islands, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Eritrea, Bhutan, Mayotte, Martinique, Montserrat, Congo – Brazzaville, Vanuatu, Greenland, Lesotho, Mali, Eswatini, and Åland Islands!
Sending special wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery to fellow blogger Fandango @ Facts, Fictions and Fantasies.

Congratulations, Irene!

Wow, that is an impressive global map. Looks like there are just a few countries in central Africa that haven’t yet discovered your blog.
Congratulations of your 7th anniversary. And thank you for your special shoutout

🤭 some countries only have one view, but it counts 😁. Thank you Fandango, I am glad the surgery is over, are you back at home yet?

Felicidades on your 7th anniversary! It seems like yesterday that I discovered your blog. I enjoy reading and making your recipes and appreciate your unique take on the exchange of ideas between cultures. Food is so personal which is why it’s so special to prepare and share it with those we care about. I look forward to more slices of Mexico in the coming years. Gracias!
