On February 14, marked as St. Valentine’s Day, many people celebrate with their sweethearts, or as they do in Mexico, also with friends. Red roses, cards, special meals and themed desserts are the norm to treat the tenants of our hearts.
I got a cake decorating kit as a present last Christmas, and I thought today would be a great occasion to get some practice. I made a batch of chocolate cake and one of my quick butter cream, leaving some in its natural colour, and some was tinted pink. The cake decorating kit comes with a rotating base, spatulas, scrappers, flower pin and scissors, piping bags and a large collection of tips. I practiced with just a few of the tips for these cakes:
