For the sixth time in my blog’s life, as I begin my seventh year as a blogger, I would like to thank all the kind readers who have followed my stories and recipes, offered comments, encouragement, and friendship. As I write my posts and read the ones from fellow bloggers, I am always learning something. I hope to continue this experience this year; it is a great feeling and honour to be sharing My Slice of Mexico with you all!

Photo above (2019): Side view of the “Church of Saint Hipolito of the Martyrs“, showing a Classic architectural style with two side towers, built behind iron gates for security, and interestingly, at a 45 degree rotation from the central structure. Their exterior walls are carved, showcasing beautiful tiles in the iconic pink shade of Cantera Rosa, a rock extracted from quarries (cantera in Spanish); the natural content of volcanic ashes is responsible for the unique tints (also in green, called cantera verde) and easy-to-carve properties.
